George Barron
MSc FRICS CMIOSH

Following 20 years experience in NHS Estate Management at Mersey Regional Health Authority and Southern Derbyshire District Health Authority and then 5 years experience at IRPC/Willis Safety Solutions, George has extensive experience in Health and Safety.

Since 2000 has managed his own consultancy business, which specialises in providing Health and Safety advice for Property Managers. Recent and on-going projects include Property Risk Assessment and Fire Risk Assessment, reports on a range of premises for Managing Agents and Housing Associations, Disabled Access Audits for a NHS Mental Health Services Trust, and NHS community PCT, together with Health and Safety Audits for a variety of clients

George is based on the Wirral.

Brian Boothroyd
BA (Law), Dip Occ. S. Hyg

After working as a Graduate Process Development Chemist he joined HM Factory Inspectorate in the West Midlands where he gained experience in a wide variety of Industrial sectors but with a bias towards engineering because of the local industry concentration. Whilst in the West Midlands and later West Yorkshire, he worked in specialist groups in Chemicals, Foundries and Textiles. He then joined Willis Corroon-Hinton where he was a Divisional Director and assignments here included HAZOP Studies, Safety Case Preparation, CEILIF audits, Accident investigations, Machinery Safety Assessments as well as Safety Policy preparation, Risk Assessments and Audits etc. Following this he gained additional experience in a major retail group where he managed Health and Safety and Risk Management for the Warehousing, Distribution and Electrical Servicing functions. With further experience of the Waste Management Industry he is able to give practical, pragmatic advice on a wide range of health and safety issues.

Brian is based in Leeds but is itinerant.

Brian Christie
CEng M I ChemE CMIOSH MIIRSM

Spent 25 years in the chemical industry working for global chemical companies, mainly in the plastics and petrochemical sector. Experience of hazards associated with toxic, flammable and corrosive substances. Was department Safety Manager in an Advanced Materials Research Department.

Latterly became a consultant working for amongst others. Willis Ltd, specialising in Audits covering a number of sectors.

Additional experience in engineering, construction, electrical, metal reprocessing, plastics and voluntary sectors

Brian is based in the North East of England.

Jim Tassell
MSc DipSH CMIOSH

He has spend his working life in the field of occupational health and safety, first in the Health and Safety Executive, then as a consultant and Divisional Director working for Willis and its predecessors back to Hinton andHiggs and latterly as Safety Manager for a major DIY retailer. Apart from retailing he has extensive experience in a wide range of business sectors including hospitality, food, drink, engineering and also public services such as education and health care. Jim has particular expertise in intercession between a client and the regulatory authorities.

Jim is based in Glasgow but is itinerant.
